Guided Dives
Powell River has many spectacular dive sites. Many of these sites have been listed in various guide books and can be easily found. Other sites are known to many, but are not listed in any known guides. Let one of our guides give you a tour you won’t forget. All of our guides are divemasters or instructors who are fully insured and very experienced. Our guides point out local sea life and underwater attractions, and allow you to spend your time at the site-not searching for it.
Prices (Guide only - does not include rental gear or charter fees)
One guided dive (allow 3 hours) $60 per person
Two guided dives (allow 5-6 hours) $100 per person
Accommodations
We offer accommodations to customers using our charter services through the Beach Gardens Resort. Price is $50.29 per person based on twin occupancy (includes taxes) for a standard room and $87.58 per person based on twin occupancy (includes taxes) for a deluxe waterfront room.
Boat Charters
There are many dive sites in the Upper Sunshine Coast that can only be accessed by boat. Sites such as Vivian Island, Rebecca Rocks, Grilse Point and 6 fathom reef are a short boat ride from Westview Harbour.
Gail Warning Charters
The Gail Warning is a 28 foot Luhrs cruiser that can do it all. She is equipped with a custom made boarding ladder, emergency oxygen and an experienced operator. She also offers many creature comforts such as electric head (toilet), hot water and propane backup heat, running water, fridge, stove and oven. Gail can serve you one of her meals for a nominal fee (you better have a good appetite). Check out her menu and see boat pictures at www.gailwarningcharters.com. Drop a prawn trap on the way or put a fishing line out during your surface interval.

More info...
The Gradient is a well built, kept and maintained 1980, 38 ft. long, 13.5 ft. beam, 8 knot, fiberglass, displacement hull, motor vessel designed by Edwin Monk. Outside she is well set up for diving with large aft deck space, port side access gate, user-friendly dive ladder, swim grid, tank racks, rinse tank for cameras, and all equipment for safe operating with eight divers aboard. Inside there is a warm cabin space, hot and cold running water, toilet and private change area.
Gradient is based in Powell River but services the North Sunshine coast area from Nelson Island to Desolation Sound. Operating in Malaspina and Northern Georgia Straits. There are great dive sites around Powell River and the North Sunshine Coast suitable for all divers from novice to deep tech and wreck divers. We will customize each trip for the experience, comfort and interest level of the overall group. Charters are based on a minimum of 4 divers and a maximum of 8 divers with 2 dives being standard. Standard charter area is an approximate 12 mile radius of embarkation point, approx. 1.5 hrs steaming time to and from sites for a 5-8 hr dive experience. Customization is not limited to site selection. Tell us what you want to do and we will try to accomplish it. While based in Powell River we move our vessel throughout the year between Lund, Okeover Inlet, Powell River, Saltery Bay and occasionally Pender Harbour. Our licensed skipper is acquainted with and has dove many sites within an hour and one half’s cruising of these embarkation points.
All divers must be open water certified and able to present their certification. We are a vessel charter operation and supply the vessel and operator/onboard dive master. We recommend divers bring along their own snacks, lunch and non alcoholic beverages of choice as the charter can be a full day. We have plenty of water for hydration and some snacks are always on hand. While we always have some tanks, tools, spare gear and extra weight’s aboard for unexpected emergencies, divers are expected to bring their own gear. Dive gear, tanks and air can be supplied by your local participating dive shop or rented in Powell River from Alpha Dive and Kayak and in Sechelt from Suncoast Diving. An in-water dive master/guide can be arranged if desired.
Weather is something we cannot predict and while we will make all efforts to go on time, on schedule. We will always adhere to safe practices. Safe practices include but are not limited to calling the dive prior to departure or after first dive due to weather and or sea state. Charters can be arranged through your local dive shop and club or directly with us at 604 414 9909. Prices are available on request.
